What is Intraoperative Monitoring?
Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) is the monitoring of the patient's nerve function with state-of-the-art computerized equipment during brain and spinal surgical procedures. Any irregular nerve signals that are recognized by our on-site Technologist and our remote board certified Neurologist attending in real-time are immediately reported to the surgical team. Based on that information, the surgical team may adjust the course of the surgical plan to ensure a successful and safe outcome for the patient.
